and what an experience. We felt at home immediately and we had everything we could possibly want.

This was a week of peace and relaxation in a beautiful and comfortable setting. La Tullerie is very clean and well equipped - a house with character which is within a few minutes of the village and an excellent location for a number of places of interest such as Coutances, Saint-Malo and the D-Day landing beaches. The many markets in local towns are well worth a look.

This was my first experience of Normandy and first Gite holiday. It was truly wonderful. The Gite is beautiful and has everything you could wish for. It is spacious yet cosy, immaculately clean and tastefully furnished. We had just about every type of weather thrown at us in a week from hail and rain to snow and then brilliant warm sunshine. When it was cold outside the Gite was warm and when the sun came out we could sit outside on the patio and take in the scenery, fruit trees, farmland and baby lambs mainly.....fantastic (as were the sunsets). We did not want for anything during our stay. The kitchen was fully equipped with every type of glass (for your red or white wine or beer) to cooking utensils galore. We arrived to a lovely welcome note with a bottle of locally produced cider and a few tea bags and some milk to tide us over which was a lovely touch. As a base for exploring southern Normandy this was perfect. If you get the chance to visit the waterfalls at Mortain it is well worth it but make sure you feed the three beautiful donkeys in the field as you drive round the corner opposite the White Abbey (which is also worth a stroll around).
It is also great for visiting Mont St Michel and the coastal resorts. Cancales is worth a visit for a nice fish dinner but make sure you go before
2pm or after 7.30pm otherwise you will be sadly disappointed.....the restaurants will be closed !! The Rance Valley is also easily accessible from La Tullerie. We drove......The Rance Valley Tour is well signposted and takes you through some beautiful little fishing villages along the Rance Estuary. It is a cheaper option than the boat trips which go along the river. We found eating out quite expensive but there is a big supermarket in Brecey which has everything you need to cook at home. And of course it goes without saying that the wine and beer are cheap and great...And don't be afraid to try the wine that is just over 1 Euro....it is lovely... That is of course if you can tear yourself away from La Tullerie. I will admit it is hard as it is so nice to just spend time in the property or in the garden. If the weather was warmer during our stay we would have made much more use of the garden and got the BBQ going. It really is a magical little retreat that you just won't want to leave.

La Tullerie is a very comfortable home-from-home, a retreat from city life, set in its own grounds. Although I was there during a very cold spell the house was cosy and warm and the hot water was fabulous! The kitchen is very well equipped-you need bring nothing from home (I always go prepared with sharp knives and bottle openers!) and the fridge is large enough to hold lots of cheese, wine and cold beer. Being lazy I only used the cooker once, preferring to microwave things when I returned from day house hunting or sight- seeing. A log fire, DVDs, comfortable beds, a beautiful location very close to Brecey. What more could anyone want? I would recommend it to anyone who loves France, and have told all my friends about it. I will be returning.
"We spent a delightful week in the charming La Tullerie. It's the perfect base for exploring Normandy."

We stayed at this lovely little gîte for just one week and we enjoyed it thoroughly: quiet and peaceful, cows grazing by the house, just meadows and fields around - and yet everything you need close by in Brecey. A perfect getaway for two. We had two dogs with us and as expected they could not climb the steep stairs to the bedroom. So they slept in the living room which was o.k.for them. We found nice beaches just half an hour drive away with a beatuiful view to Mont Saint Michel and were happy to watch English TV programs in the evenings. The service provided by the English housekeepers was just perfect: they helped with every little problem, answered all sorts of questions, gave recommendations. Not to mention the owners: very charming and caring people. It was a great pleasure to stay at their holiday home.

We rent this tiny little house in summer 2008 and we found it perfect for two people. The full equipped kitchen allowed us cooking when we wanted to, the bathroom and shower were very clean and nearly new and the beds had good mattresses, so we didn't got any backache. The english housekeepers were very friendly and immediately helped us, when we had a complaint about broken down garden chairs - they organized a full equipment of new chairs and a table and some grandios relaxing chairs! The environment of the house is very naturally and quiet - so you need a car for visiting places of interest, but for us it was a great experience just beeing awaked by hearing the cooks shouting in the morning.

Owners Response: We are very pleased that Ursula and Thomas enjoyed their stay at La Boulangerie and that they found it "perfect for two people". As the gite is in a rural area it is very quiet and peaceful but it is also within easy reach of
shops and restaurants as well as many places of interest and beaches. There are a number of farms nearby and so we think they mean 'hearing the cocks crowing in the morning'!

My wife and I had a lovely, quiet stay in La Boulangerie. It is in a beautiful rural setting surrounded by orchards and fields. The local town Brecey has all the amenities you could wish for as well as internet access at the library. A great base for exploring this part of Normandy. The small but perfectly formed gite has everything you could wish for.

Our stay at La Boulangerie was just awesome! The gite is an incredibly cosy place for a retreat from hectic and busy city life. We used the gite as a base to either walk the beaches from Carolles to Cancale (just follow the route De La Baie) or to explore the sweet countryside around Brecey. Our daily activities were crowned by excellent seafood that we either bought in one of the local harbours (Granville, Cancale) or at the very well-assorted Super-U in Brecey. For that purpose the friday market in Brecey is definitively a place to go. As we only stayed for one week, we finally felt very sorry for not having booked for longer. If there were more than 5 suitcases available for the ranking of La Boulangerie, it would win them all!
